Day 55: Memories
I am back! It has been an eventful three weeks. In all honest, it has been an event year.
This past week, my good friends father was called to his eternal home. We were able to celebrate his life today with family and friends. Remembering with the family the man, the husband, the father, the friend that he was. He always had a good story, a sparkle in his eye, and quick wit when needed. He loved a good card game and always had a moment to say hi.
We have moments in our lives where we have to say 'till we meet again' to those that we love. At times this moment comes much sooner than we are ready for. There is a void left in our lives and our hearts. We will remember these people who have impacted our lives in various circumstances as we continue on with our lives.
This past year, I have really realised how important it is to appreciate life's moments and to not take these moments for granted. To spend time with those that we love. To appreciate our family and friends while they are still apart of our lives. We have been called to accept them, to forgive them, to love them even when it isn't always easy to do.
"Finally, brothers and sisters whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things. Whatever you have heard from me, or seen in me-put it into practise. And the God of peace will be with you." Philippians 4 8-9
