Day 11:  Interesting cup of Tea:

My co-worker and I have really got into drinking a warm cup of tea.  I believe this is mainly because we are trying to warm up due to the temperature at work being a little to cold for us.  My co-worker bought this little ball of tea...and when you drop it into the tea cup...this beautiful flowering arrangement comes out of it.  Rather interesting.  Almost to pretty to drink!

Day 10:  Would you like milk with that?!?

This past Sunday I had the pleasure of having my sister, brother-in-law, and brother over for lunch.  Made some ribs, mash potatoes, and a salad.  To drink, a little OJ.  Although, when I grabbed the milk, I seen that the due date was quickly approaching so I put the milk on the table as well.  Everyone but my brother had a nice glass of OJ.  My bro decided he would help out on the milk front.  He poured himself a nice tall glass and took a swig.  Not a little swig....a huge swig.  Oh, if I could have had a picture of his face!  Plus, I have never seen him move that fast before!  To the kitchen sick he went...to spit out what was in his mouth and pour out his glass.  Apparently, even though the milk hadn't expired, it was no longer any good.  I took a smell and sure enough...oh the laughs.  Another great memory shared with 3 of my bestfriends!!

Day 9:  Movie and Popcorn

Nothing like a bowl of popcorn and a good movie! This past weekend I was able to enjoy Men in Black 3.  I have enjoyed the other MIB movies but the third one was by far my FAVORITE!  It made me smile all the way through it!  And the ending made it all worthwhile.  If you haven't seen it...and you have enjoyed the other ones this is a must see!!!

Day 8: Birthdays....

Today I celebrated 33 years of living!  Some of the moments have been amazing!  Some have caused many tears.  And others leave me in moments of wonder.  Overall, God has truly blessed me in so many ways.  Here's a very small list of my blessings:

1.  Family - I couldn't imagine life without the family God has allowed me to be apart of.  Both immediate and extended!  I know that I am extremely blessed to have a family that has been there with me thought the moments we can laugh and through the moments that have brought tears.
2.  Friends - Some near and some far.  Some that I talk to on a regular basis and others that we can pick up where ever and when ever we left off.  Others that briefly graced my life for but a brief moment and yet others where friendships have been built on years of trust and knowledge that no matter what we are there for each other.
3. My Church Family - I have been blessed to have two church families.  My church family I grew up with.  And the new church family I have come to love and adore.
4.  My career - Even though there are moments I think why do I do this???  I can't imagine life without spreadsheets and numbers!!
5.  My Home -  God has blessed me with the means for a warm home (although my brother would say I don't keep it warm enough in the winter).  A home that can entertain groups or just having only one person over for coffee.
6.  Laughter - This past year laughter has sometime felt like it hasn't come around much.  But even through the raindrops I have found a reason to laugh.  And there are always reasons for a good, practical joke!!!
7.  Health - I am blessed to be able to move around and really have little to no health issues.  I don't think being grumpy once and a while can be considered a health issues...probably affects others health more than my own.  :)
8.  Freedom -  The ability to really do what I want to do when I want to.  The fact that I live in a country that is so free.  Sometime I really take this one for granted.
9.  The Peace Country - My one friend always refers to the Peace Country as 'God's Country'.  He is from Ontario and every time he is here that is all I hear about... although I have to agree with him.  There are so many things to do and see here...if you are willing to put a little driving time in.  There is Red Willow Falls, Dunvegan, or even our pasture land up north.  We truly do live in a beautiful country!
10. Creativeness - To think, teachers from my past didn't always think I was very creative!  Hmmm, sure showed them.  Apparently I needed more of an outlet and age to help me along that path!

Day 7: My view 5 days a week...

This is my view 5 days a week.  Although, it isn't that I actually get to look at here often as normally I am facing my computer busy working on spreadsheets and such.  But this view has offered some interesting stories.  In the summers we see wedding pictures happening.  Or people making out under a tree thinking no one can see them!!!  In the winter there are always deer snacking away.  And sometime those little guys can scare a person when you are not expecting them!!!

Day 6: Lists!

Do you make lists?  To do list?  To buy lists? Honey do lists?

January 1st I decided that I was going to write one thing a day that I am thankful for.  This meant that I couldn't duplicate any items...and at the end of the year I would have a book with 365 things I am thankful for.  So far, I have been keeping on track...but it has only been 26 days!!  Lets check back in a couple months and see if I have kept it up!!!

Day 5: I Lift My Eye's up!

1 I lift up my eyes to the hills-- where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip-- he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The LORD watches over you-- the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD will keep you from all harm-- he will watch over your life;
8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
Psalm 121

Day 4:  Nothing like a good cup of Coffee!

One of my favorite past times...sitting at a coffee shop, working on photos, and people watching.  It is a bonus if you get a nice, comfortable couch and a fireplace.  But most importantly people watching...

What kinds of things have I seen there?  Well, we have watched some interesting first blind date meetings.  It is always interesting to try figure out how that night for them will end.  Will he try to go in for a hug and she just stick her hand out to give a hand shake?  Yes, I have witnessed this!  Felt bad for the guy.  He seemed to have a good conversation going.  I must admit, I have been one of these girls awkwardly waiting for her blind date to show up.  Most of the time once the date starts I can ignore the glances from the other patrons...And other times I keep eyeing the door trying to find an escape!!!

There has also been times while I have sat there you seen what looks like a single guy sitting across the room...Lets say he is wearing a red coat.  He walks by, looks like he is going to say something but nothing.  The next day, you are there meeting a friend again.  And guess who is there...yes, red coat guy.  He doesn't notice to begin with...but as he is walking out he takes notice.  He kind of waves and give me this smile like we are long lost friends.  Time to find another coffee shop!!!

Day 3: What colour are you?

Recently  I took a team building course at work.  We had to take about 10 cards, all different colours, with different phrases on them.  We had to keep the ones that we felt matched us and find others on the team that the other ones matched with.

My teammates felt I was Sunshine Yellow...I however, didn't feel this.  Sunshine Yellow makes me think of group hugs and singing around the campfire.  And believe me, that isn't me some days!  I figured I was more Earthy Green.  Earthy Green seems so down to earth...so level headed.  I knew I wasn't Cool Blue or Fiery Red.

The results are in....I was right!!!  Earthy Green is me!  "Show me you care!!!"  Although, in all honesty Sunshine Yellow was a very close second.

I do believe that depending on the situation would depend on what colour you may have to draw from.  That is why my co-workers had such a difficult time picking me out...the position I was filling at that time was a position the required harmony and being involved in everything going on.

That leaves the questions, 'what colour do you think you are?'

Day 2: 40hrs per week...

I thought a glimps into what I look at everyday...at least 40 hrs per week get spent here.  My love of numbers has brought me to a wonderful job that I am so very blessed with.  I have made some amazing friendships.  And shared many laughs with these people.

In reality, when one breaks down their day...

1.0 hrs getting ready in the morning
8.5 hrs per day at work
1.5 hrs Getting supper ready and eating
5.0 hrs for cleaning, visiting, shopping etc
8.0 hrs sleeping

8hr/day is a lot of hrs to spend with your co-workers...so I have found it best you like them and enjoy what you do!

Day 1: If God is For us...

If God is for us who can be against us?                       - Romans 8:31

A verse of comfort.  Personally, I find myself so often going back to this very verse.   It feels the older I get the more often I find comfort in this passage. A verse that on those days you want to cry out to God and question what is going on one can't help but remember God's love and protection.
