Day 89: Partner in Crime...

While waiting for the light to change Lynds and I had to take a quick picture.  I love this picture.  I love my sister!!

I was so happy that she was so willing to just come with me on a quick day trip to Jasper.  I think the one of the best memories is the fact that we went old school and listened to old CD's the whole trip.  You know, those surprise ones you burned...not knowing what song could be next.

I have to admit, this wasn't planned.  I couldn't find my iPod...and I didn't take the right hook up for my iPhone so old school it was!  I was just happy I had a book full of CD's still floating around my vehicle.

Day 88:  Oh, a Stop Light!

The weather wasn't the greatest.  We had heavy fog and rain on the way there.  Plus, snow had fallen a little over some parts.

And of course we ran into some construction.  One area even had a stop light.  And it warned you that it could take 3 minutes for it the change.

We were at the front of the line.  It didn't take long for a row of vehicles to start to line up behind us.  This is one of my favorite parts of the trip....embarrassing my sister.  We sat there for what felt like a long time.  When that light finally turned green, I couldn't help but celebrate.  I throw my hands up...waved them like I just didn't care and off we went.  My sister was embarrassed because the people behind, more then likely seen it all.  I figured we won't see them again...so does it really matter?!?

Day 87: First Stop....

Leaving at 7am for Jasper only meant one thing...Yep, coffee!  It was an early morning but a good one. But we had decided long before that morning that our first stop would be that of Timmies...Coffee and a bagel.  Then off we went.

On a side note, the coffee line at 7 am on a Saturday morning is really fast!!!!

Seeing I didn't get a post up yesterday...today is your lucky day...you get two!!!

Day 86: Road Trip!!

Yesterday, May 25th, I was able to take a quick road trip with my sister to Jasper!!!  We packed our camera's, we packed some snacks, and we were ready for a good time!  Time to make new memories....memories that you know will last a life time and no worrying about that!

7:00 am came...and off we went.  We hit, what felt like 3 seasons.  Some snow, some rain, and some sun.  Lots of deer and one wolf.  Road construction and many tourist.

We did some shopping, we did some sight seeing, we did some in dept talking, and we did some laughing.  We even had some sore feet from all the walking we did!!   Overall, it was a wonderful day spent with my friend...my sister L!!

I believe that the next week will be various pictures of the trip...with various stories.   This picture was the last one taken.  This is on our way home to my favorite lake!  The road down there was really muddy.  A little scary when it is the slick.  But L had never seen this Lake and I wanted to show here.  Our next camping trip together...will be here!!!

Day 85:  Open Position...

Not sure if you have ever smelt the air freshener 'Black Ice'...but it is amazing.  A smell that has to do until you have a boyfriend or husband that wears cologne and smells this fabulous sitting beside you in the vehicle!

With that being said...I have the position of boyfriend/best friend/potential husband available!!  Just let me know and I will send you the position description and we will see if you make the cut!  LOL!!!!

Day 84: Spring brings Love...

Okay...maybe not for me but I get to watch my parents continue to fall more in love everyday of their lives.

My dad started a tradition from one of the first years...if not the first spring they were married.  Every spring when dad sees crocuses he stops and picks some for mom.  Even after almost 35 years of marriage they still appear ever spring on mom counter.

My prayers and dreams are that are some point in my life, I will have a relationship much like my parents.  A relationship God centred and overflowing with love...where everyday we remember why we fell in love to begin with.

Day 83: Good Old Home Cooking!!

There is nothing like being sent home from your parents with a home cooked meal.  My mom has always been a amazing cook.  And this meal was just another reminder of this!!

And I have to admit, after a busy day of sleeping in, having a massage, shopping...to coming home to eat this was great!  And gave me time to get out the door on time for watching a little Star Trek...which the nerd in me loved!!!

Day 82: Jesus, Take the Wheel!

Last night I was able to rock it up with my Sista, brother in law, my parents and one of my sisters friends.

Off to Dawson Creek we went.  First for supper at the White Spot.  Which, the service wasn't great at all...rather disappointing.  Then to the Carrie Underwood concert....her blown away tour (Which I found rather ironic seeing all we have gotten this spring is wind!!!).

The concert itself was good...the opening act, I could have done without.  It was a DJ...I think the most entertaining point of that was the 40 seconds of break dancing he did.

Overall, there were many great moments shared with the people I love!!!

Day 81: Sunday Soup!

Yesterday I was able to have my best friend and her family over for lunch after church.  I decided to make homemade soup.  One of my favorite meals when growing up...especially on Sunday afternoons!

Celery, of course, is a must in homemade soup!

It seemed to be a hit!  Even little Miss K loved it!  Man that little girl melts my heart!!!

Day 80: S'mores and More!

Tonight I got to enjoy my first campfire for the summer.  It was great!  My hair still has the smell of the campfire there.

My brother in law and sister invited me to their campsite.  We had hamburgers, cucumber salad, and lemon pie!  Plus then, further on in the evening we had to have a s'more because a campfire without a s'more...just isn't right.  And who could forget the reminiscing.  Talking about old schoolmates, and life from way back then!!

What a great way to spend an evening on a long weekend!!!!

Thank you guys!!!!

Day 79: Everything Beautiful!

I got a great deal on this sign.  I am super excited to get some yard work done.  I have the perfect spot for this in the back yard....Where I am going to put my new flower garden with an apple tree. It will be perfect!

"Everything beautiful begins with God!"

Day 78: Oh Tires!

This past weekend my wonderful father put my summer tires back my vehicle.  Of course, that meant I had to re-torque them myself.  Dad was nice enough to let me borrow the tools I would need.  Given, dad still had to explain to me how to set the pounds needed.  But all was good!  I am all safe now!!

Day 77: Is That a Bunny?!?!

Day 77 already!  I guess this post comes with two stories.  The first being quick.  Did you know 77 is my favorite number.  When we were younger playing store there were post office boxes.  My address was Box 77!

Now onto the story about old blue here.  The truck where I learnt to drive a standard.  I have to admit, I use the word 'learnt' very loosely!  Let's see, I learnt to bunny hop in it.  I learnt that I would never own a standard myself.  I learnt that my dad would always have to put the vehicle in gear, jump out, and meet me at the end of the field.  I learnt that it would forever be a story that come up around the family supper table!

Yes, this truck caused me many headaches.  Mom and dad were nice enough to let me take it out to the back 40 to try and learn how to drive a standard.  But getting it in gear was the kicker.  Most of the time, if anyone were to watch me, they would have seen what looked like a bunny hop.  I could make that truck jump like no others!!!  Problem is, I still can!

Day 76: Pine cones and Fun!!

As I was walking to my vehicle I walk through a park and came across this picture waiting to be taken.  It wasn't the easiest picture to snap seeing the wind we have been getting these past few days.  But a few shots and here it is!!  I love it.  All i need is to add a simple bible verse on it and it would make a great wall hanging!

Given, when I was snapping this picture, a neighbour close to my work place, had his dogs out for a bathroom break.  Not in the back yard, not on leashes....nothing like getting ones heart going when you see the 3 rotties coming your way...full tilt!!  Thank goodness the owner looked up at that moment and called them back!!!!!

Day 75: Snuggles!

Yesterday I was able to spend some time at my mom and dad's place.  We had our mother's day meal...nice potatoe and steak meal!  Then later that evening we were able to sit and visit.  Which meant I put my feet up.  As soon as my feet went up...KoKo...our family dog...was right there.  Normally he saves that for mom's feet, but not last night.  Instead, he had to be right against my legs.  What a goof, but I love him dearly!

Day 74: Shopping Adventures 101!!!

Friday night was another shopping adventure with my sister.  We just had a new Target come into our town.  We decided to not go on opening day but a Friday night after a long week...why not!

Walking in, it had a different feeling then the old Zellers.  We started the walk...found a few good buys and had a few good laughs.

Then we were starving.  To Arby's we went seeing we hadn't been there in a while.  Beef 'n Cheddar...however, they ended up giving me the Canadian by mistake.  And I was slightly disappointed.  I wanted to just have the roast beef and cheese.  Not lettuce and tomatoes with it.  But I still just ate it.

Then off to the Dollarama and Micheal's for some shopping.  We decided to go look at some tank tops.  We want to decorate them for Relay for Life that we are going to do (Our team is Ray of Hope if you are wanting to donate you can just click the name of our team).  Anyways, back to the story.  We found some and decided to try them on.  They were a lovely pink.  Well, my sister was in the change room across from me.  We put them on and at the same time gave a little giggle and say oh, ya...hmmm.   These tank tops had no shape to them.  They would almost pass as dresses they were so long!  And well, the cuts were on the bigger side!  Oh we had a good laugh.

In the end, we may not have had any luck finding a tank top but I sure did find a nice dress and can't wait to wear it tomorrow!!  And really, a day shopping with my sister is an excellent day.  So if you are ever in need of some Shopping 101...we are your girls!!!

Day 73: Multiple Surprises!

Yesterday I missed putting a post on here.  For two reasons.  The first being my sister and I threw our brother a surprise birthday party.  The second being that while throwing this said surprise party we had an unexpected surprise ourselves.

A good surprise you ask? NOPE!  Let me start the story...

I was making ribs with our special rub sauce on it.  I had already cut the ribs up the night before.  So I took the lid of the tupperware container.  I ended up having two baking sheets out.  One which ended up being set onto of the tupperware lid.

See where I am going with this?

The ribs go into the stove...what is that smell.  Yep, melted plastic!  Got the ribs out...and then fire!  Burnt my thumb and finger...but got the fire out.  Clean as much plastic as I could out...and now, as I write this my oven is self cleaning itself...thank goodness!!

Oh, it isn't over yet...it won't be a Tasha story that way!

Ribs go onto the BBQ.  What, the BBQ isn't working?  It's out of propane!  Thank goodness my brother in law was there.  He went to go fill up the tank.  Oh, but wait...the tank has expired and you can't refill it!  I am now a proud owner of the exchange propane bottle program!

Needless to say yesterday didn't go as planned....but in the end everyone enjoyed the meal!  We had a good time visiting!  And there was even a few moments of laughing so hard tears came!  Yes, R, you don't disappoint with the laughing tears!

So dear brother, I think the next birthday party for you will be pizza that gets ordered in!!!

Day 72: It's your Birthday!

Today I had to privilege of celebrating my brothers birthday...my baby brothers birthday.  We were talking today about the day he was born.  He wasn't a tiny baby by any stretch of the imagination, a cute 10 lb 12 oz. baby boy.

Here is five reasons why I love my bro...There are more but I thought I would stick to five!

1.  He has a joke for everything.  Sometime not so appropriate but they make you laugh.  And he isn't scared to tell them...even in front of mom and dad!
2.  He has an amazing singing voice.  Some of my favourite church moments are when the three of us 'kids' have done special numbers.
3.  He has always been willing to help me out.  Like chipping ice on my walk way, shovelling snow, mowing my grass, moving me for the 10th time (or say he says it feels like 10 times), or fixing something that needs fixing at my house.
4.  He has walked beside me one of my hardest days.  He was my rock and my shoulder to cry on.  He was strong when I was to weak.  He was calm and cool.
5.  He is one of my very best friends.  I have always been able to count on him.  Whether it is a good laugh (even if it is to poke fun of me), to help me when I am in trouble, to listen to me complain about how dumb boys are, or to sometime talk sense into me.

These are reasons I love him so!

Day 71: Perfect Lunch!

Another beautiful day today.  I am really starting to like this jump into summer we have had.  I have been able to spend some time outside...and it has been wonderful.  My skin is getting a health glow to it!  Love it!

One of the benefits to the location of my work is how close to the park we are.  We just walk right out to this amazing park.  Today, I grabbed my blanket, a book and had my flip flops on.  With the company of one of my co-workers, I would venture to say this was a lunch we had been dreaming about all winter!

On a side note, our work place this morning was very hot...due to the power being out and no air circulating.  It was awful.  The only good thing about it was it resulted in a walk to Timmies while we waited for it to come back on.  A nice, unexpected breakfast out!  With the added bonus of watching many interesting people walking in and out of there to get their morning coffee.

Day 70: Sunny Saturday!

What a beautiful day we had today!  So beautiful I came away with a sunburn!  I did get lots of work done outside today...I have been very much looking forward to a nice day to be able to do a few things around the yard.

Here is a glimpse into my day...
1.  Slept in...it is Saturday, of course I was going to sleep in!
2.  Made a great breakfast.
3.  Got ready for the day.
4.  Raked my front lawn.
5.  Dug and cleaned my flower beds.
6.  Watered my flower beds as there were some plants starting to come in!
7.  We have those lovely garbage cans. When I bought my place, the people before me had some garbage stuck to the bottom of the can...I wash and cleaned that out.
8.  I sorted my pop bottles...And found out I have a slight addiction to ginger ale!  And slight is an understatement.  I laughed when I seen the sea of green.
9.  Needed a shower after all the dirt!
10.  Went for a nap...again, it is Saturday and I can!
11.  Called my mom for a quick chat.
12.  Turned on my BBQ and made myself some supper.
13.  Found some time to scrapbook!

That, is what I call the prefect Saturday.  Hanging with some friends would have been the icing on the cake but that will have to be saved for another night.

Day 69: Sweetness!

This past weekend I was super sick with a cold.  I ended up having to be away from work for two days...and a perfectly good weekend ended being spent in bed coughing and sleeping.  I had good intentions to go back to work on Monday but just felt like a bus had ran me over.

On Monday, after I woke up from my 'little nap' (7am-3pm) I got a text from my friend that told me I should check my front step before the wind takes something away.  There was some gerber daisies and a little get well note.

I loved it...it made a not great day a little better!  To be though of and loved like that!  What a great friend!!!  Love her and her little family!

Day 68: Toes in the Water...

Ass in the sand...
Not a worry in the world...
a cold beer in my hand...
Life is good today!

I have been scrapbooking a storm lately.  For FOUR reasons:
1.  It has been 3 years, it was time!
2.  Seeing my trip to Israel is coming up and I want to scrapbook that...I have to get this one done.
3. It is awesome to remember the memories that happened that weekend...the water, the tours, the boys, the entertainment, my birthday!!
4.  Seeing I am in a scrapbooking club it gives me an excuse to get it done...playing with my new toys!

Day 67:  Plants!

I was able to transplant some of my inside plants last week. I bought nice ceramic pots last year and have been waiting to use them.  At first I was going to use them for outside plants but then I got those big potters from Costco and decided that should be good enough for out there.  So I get to enjoy these pots and plants in my home.

They are super heavy but they look amazing!  And my plants seem to love the new dirt and homes they reside in now!
